Out The Window!

Is where John Byrne goes in this final recreated page, as originally written and drawn by John Byrne himself:-

She-Hulk’s reaction to Johns submission (“Too many crooks spoil the plot”, see last 2 instalments) is to not throw the pages (as she has done every other submission except one, so far) but instead to throw John Byrne out of the window to a instant and fairly grisly death…

But all that has really been killed is the Comic Book representation of John Byrne in the Marvel Universe, as first shown way back in John’s run on Fantastic Four… as this comic marked the last work John made for Marvel for quite a few years

The way that John choses to die is interesting, is this a meta commentary on Watchmen? As he dies in a very similar way to The Comedian, and She-Hulk like Watchmen is a comic about comics and the comic industry…

We finish with one final jab from John Byrne via She-Hulk, this time targeting DC Comics recent (at the time) massive “Death of a superman” story

and there is a thanks from Renee to all the many guest artists this issue

But does any of this actually explain why John is leaving She-hulk? This is what John had to say in the letters page of this issue:-

“And so it ends.  My “romance” with She-Hulk has spanned nearly ten years.  In one form or another, and it seems more like ten minutes.  But the time has come to move on.  Why?  Well, in all honesty, i’ve noticed a kind of “sameness” to the work i’ve been doing on Sensational She-Hulk for the last dozen issues or so.  The gags just haven’t been inventive enough.  The formula has begun to repeat itself.  And Jen deserves better.  So I bid fond farewell to the Green Goddess.  I’ll miss her”.

THE END

TOMORROW:- A Christmas present for you all - The complete Sensational She-Hulk 50, in full without any commentary

NEXT WEEK, 1st January 2015:- Spidey Team-up Issue one!

Li’L Doctor Doom!!

Is the break-out character in this next recreated page of She-Hulk, originally drawn by John Byrne:-

Which features The Thing fighting Xemnu (who first turned up in Journey into Mystery 62)

The Invisible Girl trying to defend herself again Spragg, (who first appears just a few issues later in Journey into Mystery 68)

Both of the characters having being “resurrected” and featured in several She-Hulk Stories by John Byrne before this point

And finally, of course Doctor Doom, who is depicted here riding a small kids tri-cycle complete with tassels on the handlebar…

We have already seen Renee’s reaction to this submission (which was to knock John Byrne out, tie him in the closet, pretend he is dead and get She-Hulk to chose a replacement artist)

So the the final question is, WHAT will She-Hulks reaction be?

Join us, NEXT WEEK for the conclusion and the final page of She-Hulk!

Too Many Crooks!

Spoil the Plot, according to this next recreated page of She-Hulk, as originally drawn by John Byrne…

If you have been following along so far, hopefully you will know that She-Hulk was told that John Byrne was dead by the editor of her comic Renee Witterstaetter and presented a number of possible alternative submissions all of which She-hulk rejected - except from the submission previous to this (which ironically I haven’t reproduced)…

When all along John Byrne was knocked out, tied up and hidden inside Renee’s closet, accused of working on a nervous breakdown all because of Johns submission as represented by this and the next page

This submission actually representing Johns own view of his work in She-Hulk and an attempt to explain why he is leaving the She-Hulk comic in real life

As we will go on to see this submission has heavy doses of “Kiddified” nostalgia and even its own break out character… NEXT WEEK!

One might even venture to say it may make you Smarf...

Working on a Nervous Breakdown!

Is what John Byrne appears to be doing in this next recreated page of She-Hulk:-

Last week after going through a number of submissions for she-hulks comic to replace John Byrne on the basis that he was dead, She-hulk found he wasn’t dead after all but knocked on the head and locked in the closet by Renee…

In other words after poking fun at all the other artists featured so far John byrne is saving the most cutting parodic elements in the comic for a depiction of himself, as after all turn about is fair play

John on this page is almost frothing at the mouth, still what on earth could he have produced for the next issue of she-hulk that could have provoked such a reaction from Renee and what will she-hulks reaction to his submission be?

We will find out in TWO WEEKS time

NEXT WEEK - It’s Issue one of DOCTOR DOOM STRIKES BACK!

You’re not Dead?

Continuing from last week, We now see She-Hulk react to pages that do not exist in my recreation:-

In the hopes that someone will come up with a better comic to be the She-Hulk comic that everyone actually wants to buy and won’t get cancelled (like all She-Hulk comics have to date, including of course the run of comics just after this very issue)

Anyway She-hulk decides she has had enough with the mysterious thumping thats been going on throughout the comic and finds none other than John Byrne, who is not only clearly not dead, but rather full of himself…

So we have gone through almost a whole entire comic devoted to finding other artists to create She-hulk on that basis that John Byrne was dead, what on earth can John have done that is so bad…?

We find out more, NEXT WEEK
