20:01- An Androids Odyssey

For those not keeping up with events, due to a number of acquisitions the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey" is owned by the same mega corporation that owns DC Comics.

While the acquisition is not new by any definition what is new is an attempt to claim that the Jack Kirby 1977 comic book series which was published by Marvel Comics and “based on concepts from the MGM movie” is also property of the self same mega corporation and that any characters in it are as well.

Which would include the character X-51 that went on to be called “Machine Man”. This does assume that the two characters are actually one and the same and that the Monolith was therefore at some point “part” of the Marvel Universe. Which probably is not the case.

Still, This has kind of left the future of the character in some doubt and so while the law suits go flying through the air, I thought it was a good time to show you all the proof you need that “Machine Man” is not X-51 as illustrated by none other than Steve Ditko.

So a bit later than was originally planned (Okay so I forgot!) I present to you Martin Hands stunning recreation of Machine Man issue 10, the choice of issue was entirely Martins all I ever did was say I thought it was a good idea, as to if that makes me a “consulting editor” or not I leave up to you…

NEXT TIME:- A Barnstorming Two-In-One… or it is indeed  the time to clobber!
